Health Data Sync

Updated February 22, 2026

Unfair uses Apple Health as the shared data path for profile context, activity context, and supplement dose reconciliation.

How the sync path works

Unfair reads and writes through HealthKit, then merges those records with local journal events.

A logged dose can still show in Journal even if a HealthKit write fails, because local event storage is persisted on device.

Common causes of sync delay

Recent workouts, nutrition samples, or medication events can take time to appear depending on source app sync timing.

If you log a dose and do not see expected context, open the app again after a short delay and refresh Journal.

Verify the source of truth

When values look wrong, compare Unfair against Apple Health first.

If Health is missing data, Unfair cannot infer it. If Health has duplicates, Unfair will reflect those duplicates until the source is corrected.

Next steps when sync looks broken

Start with HealthKit Permissions, then run the checks in Troubleshooting.
